This adventure is a classic guided hike that will see you enjoy 2 substantial mountain summits in one day. This hike takes in Pen Y Ole Wen (978m) in the morning and Ygarn (947) in the afternoon.
Set overlooking the Ogwen Valley both of these mountains offer a contrasting experience that will see you scale new heights and test your fitness!
The day is around 8 hours with a 30 minute break for lunch taken after scaling Pen Y Ole Wen and before embarking on Ygarn!
Pen Y Ole Wen is a route that offers a mixture of hiking over grassy meadows, stream crossings and beginner level scrambling. It is a fun route that offers stunning views and scenery while often being a little “blowy” at the top!
Ygarn is a glorious route that offers a mixture of step mountain paths, scree hiking and steeper ground that will test your legs and lungs. The effort is worth it though for on the right day the views are some of the best in Snowdonia!
This is a challenging day requiring a good level of mountain fitness. The pace will be steady and group will remain together to ensure safety and plenty of time for snack stops, refreshments and taking pictures!
