Research in recent years has reinforced the importance of getting outside and re-connecting with our environment for improvements in our health and well-being.

I deliver adventures to locations including the Scottish Highlands, Snowdonia, The Lake District, Brecon Beacons, Yorkshire Dales and Devon. Periodically there are also international adventures including Morocco and The Alps.

Do you fancy something a little more challenging? If so, one of the challenge events I organise may interest you. Going to a new location, far away from home, being exposed to the elements and all that Mother Nature has to offer can seem daunting and uncertain.

Venturing into the unknown can act as a powerful stimulus for strengthening mind-set, overcoming adversity and limitations and fostering a greater sense of personal power and ultimately, confidence. It can be an incredibly enriching experience.

Exploring the natural environment gives us endless opportunities to broaden our horizons and to appreciate all that Mother Nature has to offer. One of the biggest teachers of adventuring in the mountains is the need to be self-sufficient, resilient and able to respond to the challenges that emerge along the way as you strive towards attaining the goal.

Which Adventure is for Me?

All adventures with Coaching Shore are expertly lead by me and available for various ability and experience levels. I will guide and support you and ultimately ensure your trip is exciting, fun and of course – safe.

I run group organised events, team bonding experiences, 1-2-1 experiences for wild camping and photography and organised challenge events.

The Adventure Grade

1 Mountain Top – Suitable for beginners and those who have never been to a mountain before. The pace will be relaxed with lots of time for breaks and picture opportunities.

2 Mountain Top – For those who are experienced hikers with at least 1 UK mountain experience and who have the fitness to be able to hike all day going up and down long hills with lots of steps. This is classed as an intermediate level.

3 Mountain top – Strenuous Day. Must have a high level of mountain fitness. May include some scrambling or fast paced hiking. Must feel confident in a mountain environment.

If you are looking for greater personal challenge I offer events including Remote Wild Camping Expeditions in the UK, The Welsh 3 Peaks, National 3 Peaks and Fan Dance Ultra Endurance experiences throughout the year.

I went adventuring with Matt on a beginners group mountain experience. I attempted my first ever climb up Mount Snowdon on one of Matt’s organized adventures, something I would never have contemplated if I hadn’t been exposed to Matt’s passion and enthusiasm for mountains and outdoor life. It is true that the trip challenged me immensely and pushed me well out of my comfort zone……but Matt was there every step of the way – supporting me through the self-doubt and discomfort, and never once giving upon me. It is an experience I will never forget – and a privilege to have shared that with someone who is SO passionate about mountain life and helping others experience it too.

At the end of the Summer I was in need of an escape to the mountains and asked Matt if he would guide me on a one day, one to one adventure in Snowdonia. I’m not confident to go to the mountains on my own so needed the help of an expert mountain guide like Matt. That day, Matt pushed me out of my comfort zone and we climbed two mountains, something I’d never done before. It was a truly memorable day and just what I needed after going through several months of restrictions due to Covid.
